About Design Colors
Discover color palettes from award-winning designs.
What Is Design Colors?
Design Colors is a color palette discovery platform designed to help designers, developers, artists, students, and creative professionals explore color combinations found in recognized design work.
The palettes featured on this website are extracted and analyzed from designs that have received recognition through the A' Design Award, an international design competition that evaluates entries across numerous categories including product design, graphic design, architecture, digital media, and many others.
How It Works
Each color palette on Design Colors is derived from the visual analysis of award-winning design images. Our process identifies prominent colors within each design and presents them as accessible palette data that you can explore, reference, and download in various formats.
For each palette, we provide:
- Color values in multiple formats (HEX, RGB, HSL, CMYK, LAB, and more)
- Named color identification and color family classification
- Accessibility information including WCAG contrast ratios
- Color relationships such as complementary and analogous colors
- Downloadable palette files (SVG, PNG, CSS, JSON, and other formats)
- Links to the original design and designer information
The palettes are generated through automated analysis and are presented for informational and inspirational purposes. They are not reviewed, approved, or endorsed by the original designers.
Who Is This For?
Design Colors is designed to serve anyone interested in color and design:
- Designers seeking color inspiration for projects, looking to understand how accomplished designers use color in their work
- Developers who need quick access to professionally-sourced color values in web-ready formats
- Students and educators studying color theory, design principles, or visual communication
- Artists and illustrators exploring color harmonies and combinations for creative work

About the Source: A' Design Award
The designs featured on Design Colors have been recognized by the A' Design Award, an international design competition established in Italy. The A' Design Award accepts entries across a wide range of design disciplines and evaluates submissions through a jury process involving design professionals, academics, and press members.
Award levels include Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Iron, reflecting different tiers of recognition as determined by the jury's evaluation.
Design Colors is not the A' Design Award and operates independently as a color discovery tool. We reference A' Design Award data to provide context about the designs from which palettes are derived. For complete information about any design or designer, please visit the original listing on the A' Design Award website.

Our Approach
We built Design Colors with several principles in mind:
- Accessibility: Color data should be easy to access and use across different tools and workflows
- Context: Palettes are more meaningful when connected to the designs and designers they come from
- Privacy: We designed the website to function without tracking users or requiring accounts (see our Privacy Policy)
- Transparency: We clearly identify where palettes come from and the limitations of automated color analysis
Limitations
While we strive to provide useful and accurate information, please be aware of the following limitations:
- Color values are derived through automated analysis and may not perfectly represent the designer's intended palette
- Color appearance varies across devices, displays, and viewing conditions
- CMYK and print-oriented values are approximations; professional color matching requires proper calibration and proofing
- Accessibility indicators are informational and do not constitute compliance certification
- Palettes are not endorsed by or created in collaboration with the original designers
For more details, please review our Terms of Use and the disclaimers contained therein.
